A Prayer

From the 1918 Pulitzer Prize-winning book of poetry Love Songs, "A Prayer" encompasses the feeling of one who wants to feel love, regardless of whether the love is reciprocated. It is more important for this character to love than to worry if the love is returned. My goal with the piece was to invoke passion for what you believe. As in a conversation where you become more passionate about your feelings. I wanted this work to be about its climax, "Oh, let me love with all my strength."
