Do Not Go Gentle

Originally composed as my first commission, Do Not Go Gentle is by far my most challenging composition. It's meant to express the uneasy emotions of a son losing his father: how the son does not wish his father to go to the afterlife and is begging him to fight it. Though we never wish to lose a loved one, there is always the feeling of peace knowing they are going to a better place. The work ends with each voice part "dying away" to represent the final passing of this beloved father.
